How a Gun Control Petition Went from the Tumblr Dashboard to Washington DC
I created the petition “Immediately address the issue of control through the introduction of legislation in Congress” as a knee-jerk reaction in mid-December of last year. It was a way of gaining control over a situation I had no control over. After the awful extent of the Sandy Hook shootings became clear, I felt disoriented. The mind tends to turn toward blame, but the murder of twenty children and six school officials was, and will always be, a hard thing to wrap my head around.
I knew that if there ever were a tipping point for effective gun control, this would be it. So, I wrote a petition. My primary goal was to appeal to both sides of the debate. Writing an incendiary, partisan petition benefits no one. The vast majority of gun owners are people who have the Constitutional right to own one, several, or many guns, and singling these people out was wrong. Simply put, the petition was intended to start a realistic dialogue about guns and their role in the United States. We have a gun problem, plain and simple.

How do Romney and Obama stack up on Tumblr?
President Barack Obama may be the commander in GIF when it comes to his presence on Tumblr, but his competitor Mitt Romney is no slouch on the microblogging network.
In October Romney was the topic of 94.5 million posts and 3 million reblogs while Obama collected 117.1K posts and 2.5 million reblogs, according to statistics from Union Metrics, Tumblr’s official analytics partner.
“From a content perspective, nearly all of the most popular posts (those receiving the most notes) are directly comparing the candidates; more than two-thirds of the posts about each candidate also include a tag about the other candidate,” Union Metrics reported. “Most of the content is visual and sarcastic in nature, often created to poke fun at the candidates, with myriad screenshots and GIFs created from the debates.” [continue]

Unless you’re saying that Romney is the subject of posts making fun of Romney, I can’t believe there are more positive posts about Romney than Obama on Tumblr. If that’s true, where are all these Tumblrers? On second thought, I’m glad I haven’t found them.

I submitted this to the Barack Obama Tumblr blog.
I know they will do the right thing.

Let’s make this happen.

President Barack Obama Riding a Killer Lion by Artist Jason Heuser

President Barack Obama rides his faithful / vicious lion while showing off his Star Wars Jedi and archery crossbow skills in artist Jason Heuser’s killer new Presidential illustration. 11” x 17” and 24” x 36” prints of his original and variant designs are available to purchase at Jason’s epic art store on Etsy.

I really love the Rampaged Reality love on the stock of his crossbow. The RR logo adds a menacing 1,000 x Damage!

Obama Makes Funny Face

He could just do that during the presidential debates and still win.

I can not wait to watch him debate any one of those Republican candidates. It will be like one of those scenes out of a martial arts movie where the master keeps his arms behind his back the entire fight and lets his opponent fall all over himself as he attacks wildly.
